Conflicts of Interest Policy

Every relationship that could bias a page

Direct answer

Nobody on the editorial team holds a financial interest in a company covered here, accepts payment from a provider, or works for one. If that ever changes, the relationship is disclosed on every affected page and the person is removed from the affected coverage.

What we test for, specifically

A conflict-of-interest policy that only says “we disclose conflicts” is untestable. These are the specific relationships we check for and what we do about each.

Direct payment. No provider covered here pays us anything — no advertising, no commission, no flat fee, no revenue share, no free service. If that changed, the provider would be removed from every ranked comparison, not merely disclosed alongside one.

Common ownership. We check whether the publisher or any principal holds an interest in a covered company. Where such an interest exists it is disclosed at the top of every affected page, not in a footer.

Reviewer relationships. No clinician reviews a page about a company they work for, consult to, or hold an interest in. A reviewer who develops such a relationship is removed from those pages rather than asked to be careful.

Data sourcing. We do not accept pricing data supplied by a provider as verified. A provider confirming its own figure is still a company claim, and it is labelled provider-reported until a researcher captures it from the published source independently.

What a reader can check

The scoring rubric is published with its arithmetic and weights. The pricing dataset is downloadable with capture dates inside each record. The evidence ledger names the researcher who captured each source. If a ranking ever appears that the published rules do not produce, the inputs are there to check it against.

That is the point of publishing them. A conflicts policy is only as good as the ability to audit whether it was followed, and most in this category cannot be audited at all.

When quoting a figure, include the capture date shown beside it rather than the date you read this page. A price without its capture date is not a usable citation.
